I’ve not had much time for online-y stuff this past week as my British granddad was over and I was busy doing all sorts of surprisingly interesting things. We went to the Jyväskylä festival of light, three churches which weren’t open and one cathedral that was, several really lovely restaurants and cafés, a folk museum all about 19th century craftspeoples homes, a rehearsal of the Helsinki radio symphony orchestra (Stravinski’s Firebird and Beethoven’s second symphony, conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen), Suomenlinna which is basically an old Finnish military fortress of some description, and lastly a hotel bar for drinks.

Hehe, just a bit of silliness, inspired by the sight of certain scrounging dog while I was making cakes one day! Much fun was had taking these photos. Barney got pretty overexcited at one point and started bouncing around the garden, showing me, my camera, my very unamused cat, the plants, & the shed with flour… We had white patches on the patio for days!

Ha, he really did love this little photo-shoot we did with the flour :) Mmm, I made a ginger cake today, it’s the first time I’ve baked anything for ages but we’ve got loads of extra eggs from our hens atm, that need using up, so a cake seemed like a good plan. Barney got his own egg to play with (outside!) while I baked… he likes to eat them raw, shell & all!

Haha, what a brilliant idea! I’d give flour a go with Freija, only I can already picture the mess it’d make and what a pain it’d be to clean up! :D
